Suddenly I Watched Anime Again

I haven’t really watched a lot of anime lately. Since summer actually. I have mostly read manga en masse. I don’t now, my brain has been too scattered and my body too restless to be able to concentrate on anime. But now, yes now, I have finally started to watch again. Maybe it’s because this season is filled with interesting anime (and so many pretty boys).

I’m just briefly gonna make a list of what I am actually watching. Because I am watching seasonal anime all of a sudden. I also watch some old stuff and there are some anime I should finish but I am gonna at least keep up with the seasonal stuff.

Double Decker – Doug & Kirill

What can I say? Doug’s hot? Yes, he is. I might have just binged the first four episodes solely on that fact but in the end it actually is an amusing anime with some quirky characters and the story is totally ok. Did I mention Doug is hot?

Tsurune

Archery, that is such a beautiful sport. I love it so much. I have read some manga where the sport is present and along with kendo it is my favorite sport to read about/watch. So I was so happy when they announced this anime. I had very high expectations when I sat down and watched this the other day and I am not disappointed. So I look forward to what’s to come.

Goblin Slayer

Well, the first episode was very promising with it’s slaying of goblin babies and raping of virgins. And then it turned into some cosy fantasy adventure. I am a bit disappointed because I wanted dark and gruesome, but I am really fine with what it turned into too. I still have hopes of more slaying though. We’ll just have to wait and see. (oh, and Goblin Slayer, the dude who actually slays the goblins, is hot as f*ck. I’d do him any day of the week. And before you say anything; I know, we don’t know what he looks like but who cares, he’s hot in his whole being. He can do me over in all ways in that armor of his.)

Run With the Wind

I can totally relate.
ccrerdvl
“Little butterfly, wait for me.” And look at that prancing pony.Β

Boys who run; it must be good right? Maybe. I can’t decide on this one really. It’s kind of cosy and I see the conflicts, and I want to know why the mc is so anti their goal to run up the top of the mountain. But I am not sure it is enough. Then again, it is sports and one of the characters is very relatable; he’s an otaku with no stamina what so ever. I love him. There are butterflies flying around his head. Anyway, some hot boys occur in this one too, as in all of the above so far.

Hinomaru Sumo

Another sports anime with nice bodies.. I mean boys. No, I mean bodies. It is very liberating to watch a sports anime where the characters aren’t all perfect bodies. Well, they are sumo wrestlers and as far as I know it is more important to be big than be well trained. In this anime we have all sorts and I love it. Otherwise it is the typical sports anime with the tiny protagonist trying to make a name of himself. “You are too short” is the first thing he hears actually. So yeah, tiny. There are schools and nationals and stuff. As always. And they are a newbie team with little to no experience. I like it a lot so far and I don’t think my feelings will change.

Karakuri Circus

Puppets, I am damned scared of them. In real life that is. So this is gonna be interesting to follow. The first two episodes were good. I like the boy and the dude is hilarious. The story intrigues me. It can be a good watch, I hope it will.

These are the seasonal anime I watch so far. I might add to the list if something catches my eyes. Bloom Into You has a possible place on the list but I haven’t decided yet. Onto the stuff I should finish or continue to watch.

Banana Fish

Yeah, I know, I still haven’t gotten further than episode eight. I am actually in the middle of that episode. I was interrupted while watching and I didn’t feel interested enough to continue that day. Mhm, I know. But I actually think that is because I knew exactly what was gonna happen. That is my issue with this anime; I know what’s gonna happen. I made the huge mistake of reading the manga before watching the anime. Normally I would just scrap the anime but I really want to watch it because it looks so beautiful. That is really my only reason. So I’m gonna try. But no promises.

Grand Blue

I lost this one during summer for a lot of reasons. But i want it so bad so I’m gonna take it all in one go and binge it. It is hilarious.

HINAMATSURI

I know! I never finished it. I went down in my hole and never managed to finish it back when but now I should be able to do it. I love that anime so much.

MEGALOBOX

Another one I am ashamed of not having finished. Another one I lost to the depression. But I want to finish it and now is probably the right time for it.

My Hero Academia

2dup1xll
So, I still think Lemillion looks like an overpowered Tintin. Question is, who’s Snowy and who’s Captain Haddock?

Well, this is an ongoing thing in my home. My 10 y/o watches with my now and then and so it takes some time to watch this since she knows no Japanese (like me obviously) and her English is good but not good enough (no native) to catch all they say. So yeah, it takes time but we’re getting there.

Beelzebub

Chug, chug, chug

Because why not. I am always rewatching this so it should probably not even be on this list. I’m adding it anyway just because I can. My baby and his baby.

This is it, I think. It’s enough maybe. At least for now. Looking at it now it’s more than I thought it would be. I might write something about some of them but I’m not sure about what if any. Anyway, thank you for reading this far.

  1. So cool that you are watching seasonal anime as well: out of this list the only one we have in common is Goblin Slayer. I am considering Run with the wind…but as it’s a sportsanime I haven’t decided yet. I actually wrote a seasonal anime post myself as well (yes: That is a first for my blog lol). I would provide a link but as I’m at work on my lunchbreak and my phone I don’t know how to do that; don’t laugh lolπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ But it’s a fairly recent post, so it should be easy to find😊 Oh and did I say already that it’s great to see new posts from you again? YayπŸ™πŸ™

    1. I’m immediately gonna go check it out. And yeah, I have no idea how to link stuff on my phone either so I am quiet as a tiny mouse here. 😳 And I am pretty sure you said that yes. 😁 It’s nice to be back tbh. I feel energized actually. But I have a dentists appointment this afternoon so God knows how I feel afterwards. Defeated possibly.

Run with the wind is okey. So far not the best I’ve seen, the other two sports I see are much better I think so far. The archer one is really god despite only been one episode so far.

      1. Haha…phew…I’m glad I am not the only one lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Sometimes I feel really dumb when I don’t know things like that…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
I hope your dentist appointment went well. I think nobody really likes going to the dentist…and if anyone does…I have yet to meet them 😊😊Great to hear that you feel energized 😊😊
Okay…well…I will let you know what sports anime (if any) I will pick up 😊😊

      2. Oh you are not alone. My sister in law is if possible even worse with stuff like this.

It went well. She took like forever to fill the hole she drilled but yeah, I survived in the end. My biggest fear is that I can’t swallow when I lay with all their stuff in my mouth. I know I can swallow and it is only water, and that’s not the problem. My problem is that my reflex to swallow stops to work and I get panicked. It is totally in my head of course but when I think about it it of course happens. So I had a few of those episodes where I almost got panic attacks because I suddenly couldn’t swallow but I managed to reverse it. I don’t think the dentist noticed it. Not that it matters, worst case I would just have to push her away. Anyway, yeah, that’s how it is.

You should pick some sports anime up, they are great. If any I would recommend Tsurune I think. I mean, archery is beautiful.

      3. Haha: phew glad to hear that there are even more people out there that don’t know about this stuff πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
I’m glad that it went well. I hardly ever have any problems with the dentist (think I have had two holes in total for my entire life) but it’s always a scary thing. So..definitely understand your fear for it. Which is why I am very glad to hear that it went well for you 😊
Yeah…As you know I am not a huge sports fan, but…so many people want me to try to give a sports anime a go that I guess I will have to say yes. And with you adding recommendations …I can never say no to miss penquin right? πŸ˜˜πŸ¦‘πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š

      4. Hehe, you better not say not to the penguin. 🐧 You know, sport in real life is absolutely not my thing. The closest I come is MMA and occassionally ice skating, and competitive dancing. Not the usual sports like football or ice hockey. But it is different with anime because you get so much more than sport, especially in anime like Free! and YoI, and I suspect Tsurune. It’s not all a long match but a lot of other stuff as well.

      5. My closest thing to sport is running across the floor at my company lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Yeah…I really hate sports…it’s just not my thing, it never has been, and I don’t think it ever will be either. But…just for you, I will see if I can check out some kind of sports anime at some point 😊😊 I promise….πŸ¦‘πŸ¦‘πŸ¦‘

      6. Gonna remember that! πŸ¦‘πŸ€– As for my sports achievements; well does hanging at the hockey rink fawning over the hot hockey players count? πŸ˜˜πŸ€”

  2. I was surprised to find there wasn’t much buzz around Double Decker – when it comes to my usual suspects around here, there’s only one set of weekly impressions. Maybe it’s because the show started way too early…? I love it pretty much to bits by now and I’ve only seen 4 episodes. (Then again, I did find the manga on the Tonari no Young Jump website in all its untranslated glory, so that’s probably feeding into how excited I am for it…)

Tsurune I’m kind of torn about. I had my eye on Han Gyaku Sei Million Arthur because I saw a hot boy by the name of Wanderer Arthur. Now that Tsurune took the final Crunchyroll box, I doubt Million Arthur will show up anywhere legal, so I’m directing my grumpiness at Tsurune in the meantime while I’m trying to keep my hopes up (since Million Arthur debuts in a few days). I am kinda interested in archery because I don’t 100% suck at it, but considering I just finalised my weekly watchlist today, I might check on it once the season’s over instead. By the way, the lineup, aside from Double Decker, is the skeleton bookseller anime, Golden Kamuy, Gridman, Zombieland Saga and Merc Storia, but I may end up going back to the slime anime or Run with the Wind later as those are 2 cours.

The brunette up the back of the Hinomaru Sumo picture has some nice hair…might have to check that one out once the show’s over too.

    1. It surprises me as well, I don’t think anyone I follow writes about it. It might have to do with the early start. Episode five completely won me over, I am sold. It is truly amazing. So yeah, I am glad I picked it up solely based on looks.

I had to google Wanderer Arthur and the anime because I haven’t heard of him/it. He does look rather nice.

You have a nice line up. I have the bookseller anime on my reserve list. I have watched the first episode and I kind of like it. It is amusing enough to be watched if I have nothing else to watch. Golden Kamuy is something I have thought about since season one but I never got around to watch. People praise it so yeah, maybe I should watch it. I might binge it eventually.

Sumo is great as a sports anime. Me, I have my eyes mostly on the white haired dude. He is so hot. Also, tsundere deluxe. Incredibly fun to watch. But all characters are interesting in their own ways.

    1. I am too. I like sports anime but I can honestly say that I am surprised that they are all this high quality. I like. I expected to maybe like Tsurune and that would be all. So, yay!
