30 Day Anime Challenge: Day 17 (He’s The Boy On The Side)

I had a hard time with this and not in that nice way where you have too many to chose from. No, everyone I thought of came up being main characters and the only ones I actually did think of are all in the one anime I have been going on and on about for the last week so I am not gonna mention them. So, for the last hour I have been scratching my head bloody but now I know. Kurokiba Ryou in Shokugeki no Soma.

Kurokiba is a fascinating character. Lazy, uninterested, slow, gloomy… until he puts on his bandana. The minute that red piece of cloth wraps around his forehead his whole body is on fire and his eyes glows like he is the devil.

A magician in the kitchen, loyal to his mistress who found him in Denmark of all the places in the world when they were kids. He was working in a pub as a chef and later head chef.

It is easy to say what is so fascinating with this character (see above). Not only what I have mentioned but he is also hot. Yes, I am shallow. You know it, I am just stating the obvious here. Clothes are falling off to the left and the right in SnS in every episode so it is hard not to see his sexy body. Also, I have a weakness for dark eyes and black, messy hair. And bandanas.

You need to be fit to cook.

Well, let’s see how tomorrow goes…

  1. Another anime that I haven’t seen yet (of course lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚). But I like the concept of the character. Hmm, had to think about my favorite supporting male character but I guess I’m going for Batou in Ghost in the Shell. He was always supercoole and I guess he still is! πŸ˜€

    1. I love how Ghost in the Shell is you Beelzebub! 😎 I better watch Ghost in the Shell soon, I realise. Yes, Kurokiba is cool. There is like this on/off switch and I like that. He is also so very loyal to Alice, the girl who found him. She can do pretty much anything but he stays by her side. SnS is a really fun anime with a lot of cooking. Think sport anime but cooking instead. There is the competition element through out. This season they took it another level with some darker theme too. It’s back in April too. Can’t wait! This is one of a few anime I watch week by week.

      1. Haha: well my to watch anime list is growing more and more each week lol.
I guess I am going to have to check this one out as well. Hmm…March is anime theme month, but I don’t think one month is going to be enough lolπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
As for Ghost in the Shell it’s definitely awesome, and I really love both the story and characters. Hope you will enjoy it too 😊😊

      2. I think I will. At least the look of it is very pleasing. And what I know about the story, that I like. I have anime to watch until I die. 😎 And still, I am just adding and adding. 😱 At some point (like yesterday at 23.42 last night) I had a brief thought that maybe I should start from number on on my MAL list (yeah, I made on of those. I realised it was way easier than keeping the ones I have here up. Also, I can keep track much easier of my manga there. Downside though, they don’t do manwhas and webcomics there.) I have given up that thought now.

Yeah, you better make March a really long month if you are gonna make it. Like, march, march, march, june. 😎

      3. Hahaha πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Well…I’m sure I’m going to do more than one anime theme month this year, it’s pretty much inevitable lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ And…I don’t mind doing that either.
I always try to think of better ways to watch things too…at one point I was just watching shows by letters of the alfabet, but…that worked for about two weeks.
I have pretty much resigned myself that I will never complete my to watch/to read list before I die as I could build a bridge that round go twice around the world I think: it’s endless lol πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ I just keep adding things too πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      4. By letters, that is…. crazy. πŸ˜‚ But good enough! 😎 Who was it? πŸ€” Someone I follow has made a random list of 50 anime she’s gonna watch this year. A generator chose for her. That might be something I should do. My problem is that I will switch out those anime I am less eager to watch come that day I am going to watch them. Because, I am such a cheater. πŸ™„ 😱 😎

Oh yeah, I have read Karandis review now… yeah, i am dropping Devilman. Might as well, there are other anime that are more worth my time. I think I should be better at dropping stuff actually. I force myself to continue even though I don’t really care for it. That’s kind of stupid.

      5. Haha, well….that means I am stupid too, as I never drop a show. But, sometimes it is worth ot to stick with it as well. I had almost dropped the Korean drama series Black after two episodes, but I am very glad that I did not because it turned into the best Korean drama series that I have ever seen. But yeah…there are plenty more examples where this isn’t the case lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Haha….and sometimes it is good to be a cheated…you get to the good stuff much sooner πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Hmm yeah watching it by letter listed about a week I think…and then I went back to cheating πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      6. I go by the three episode rule. Or at least I try. Some I know from the start I won’t bare with but I will try to give them a fair chance at least. Sometimes I drop and then, months later, I go back and revise and realise that I was wrong to drop it. A little like I have matured in my taste (or maybe gotten a lot more childish πŸ€” πŸ˜‚ ). It’s a good thing to check out that dropped list now and then too.

      7. Honesty I have tried the three episode rule….but I never could stick to it…I always wanted to find out how a show ended, no matter how bad it got…oh man…when I think of the hours I could have saved when I had dropped shows earlier…lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Haha…well I think a combination between childish and mature taste is awesome lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      8. I can honestly say that for the first time in my life I have considered watching the last episode of Devilman. 😳 I am not one of those who read the end of the bopk first (what kind of psychopaths do that?! 😨 ) but in this case, and this really is a first, I am curious about how it ends. I don’t feel like the way there is important and worth the time though. Had it been only 12 episodes I probably had seen it all though. Otherwise I am like you, too curious. It’s the same with books, I have rarely stopped reading a book because it got boring or slow. I suffer through it to get to know.

      9. Haha: I don’t think that I have ever done that, watch a last episode or the ending of a book. In fact, no….i can pretty much state that I have never done that lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
But yeah I guess I can understand that…it seems like a series not worth watching completely, but still you want to know the ending. I would say: go for it! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

      10. It is very tempting… and goes against all I believe in. 😱 I might let the thought sink in a bit and see how I feel about it. Or maybe I should find a spoiler ridden review that reveal everything? πŸ€” That is an option. Or maybe I should just not give a rat’s ass and just forget about the disaster known as Devilman: Crybaby. Hm? Decisions, decisions.

      11. Haha πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚Oh man, this just cracks me up. Maybe you should use write down all these options, write numbers before all those different choices and then throw a dice. Just let the fates decide. Then again…you could also just don’t give a rat’s ass and pretty much forget about this disaster lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
