Recovery of an MMO Junkie (Net-juu no Susume)

I just watched the OVA. My heart is fluttering all over the place. The anime ended last week and the studio (I suppose it is the studio that decides these things?) was kind enough to decide to release the OVA right away and not let us wait for half a year or whatever is customary. So, I literally just watched it and am now all giggly inside. I love Morioka. I love Sakurai. I love Lily and Hayashi. And I love all the other goofballs in that anime. It is such a heartwarming story and it has made me feel so good this whole grey, rainy fall. Two adorkable, awkward grown ups playing mmo, trying to fit into everyday life; one as an office worker and one as a neet. Living every free second on the internet, meeting up and going on adventures. I can’t really explain it better than love inside and love outside is pretty much the same but not. And then they hold hands.

I really hope there will be a second season because I am so not ready to leave this adorable, heartwarming, lovable world. I just want more, more, more.

    1. One can still hope. There is hopefully more material for a second season. *ridiculously optimistic* What’s sad is that the manga is on hiatus and has been since 2015 so it doesn’t seem likely that it will ever be finished. It feels kind of strange that they would do an anime of a manga on hiatus right now though so maybe she is back again. I tried to google a little but my Japanese language skills are next to none. And google translate is like reading War and Peace on acid.
